Alan Brewer

Date of Birth: 04/08/64.

Started playing in: 1974.

1st band: Longridge.

Previous bands: British Aerospace (Manchester) Band, Leyland DAF, Warburtons Bakery.

Memorable moments:

Alan recalls the times when he played with the following bands:

· British Open with Leyland.
· National Championships with Leyland.
· Granada Band of The Year with Leyland.

More about Alan:

· Alan started learning to play with the Longridge Band at an early age. He played Tenor Horn for 10 years and saw them progress from the 4th to the 2nd Section.
· In the nineties, Alan studied for his Degree in Band Studies at Barnsley College and went on to complete a final year at Accrington and Rossendale College, studying under Richard Evans and Arthur Butterworth.
· Alan graduated in 2002 with a 2:1 Honours Degree.
· Alan is also Bandmaster of our band.
· He is employed as a Software Engineer for The Aerospace Industry and lives in the village of Freckleton.

Alan's Hobbies: Alan has very little time for any hobbies, He is also currently studying the piano so, this takes up a lot of his time.

Vicky Ogden

Date of Birth: 1857

Started playing in: 1858

1st band: Excelsior Ropes Works

Well, Vicky has been in the band for a year now, parking is her downfall, she has yet to navigate the BIG car park we have, she tends to park somewhere, 500 Metres away and walk to band, mad or what?

Vicky’s Hobbies:

In her spare time, (she has lots as she NEVER practices), Vicky is a Belly Dancer in her local night club. She does this as she thinks it helps to support her diaphragm!
