More about Dave:
Dave joined Freckleton Band in 1994 (over 10 years ago).
Dave's Hobbies:
Dave is a very interesting person. In 2003, he took a year off work to see a bit more of the world.
This took him to all corners of the earth, from China to Cuba and from New Zealand to Nova Scotia.
Even though Dave was not banding during this time, it did not
stop him from sampling some of the musical culture that the world had to offer.
He has added to the band's percussion equipment, a Thai Frog
Croaker! Should be interesting to see which Test Piece this is used for!
Dave also saw a few Brass Bands out there too.
He specifically mentions 'the wonderful painted mural on the
bandroom wall in Gisbourne (New Zealand)', and 'watching a band
on the march in Guatamala'.
Now that he is back to the delights of work, Dave says that
he would recommend taking a year off to anyone.
His words were: "how else can you climb volcanoes, canoe
in remote lakes, sample sushi (as your granny used to make it),
learn the 'local lingo' or bungy jump all in one holiday?"
Dave is also a keen runner. His future plans are to enter
the Freckleton Marathon in 2005 and beat his last years time.
